The California International Marathon starting time is listed as 7:00 AM which seems wrong. I guess I see the wisdom of starting the race early, but I have never been much of a morning runner -even on long run days I’m happy if I can get myself together and on the road before 10:00.
Anyone can imagine what a 7:00 AM start time means: waking up at 4:00 to fix a last pre-marathon meal, getting to the startline at about 6:00AM, getting queasy stomach butterflies for nearly an hour before the race gun goes off… all this while most people are still asleep and curled up in their warm beds.
I’ve been getting up every morning this week at 5:00AM for a quick run in an attempt to get my body ready for Sunday.
Sunday!!! It’s only a few days away.
GO HEATER GO!
GO HEATHER GO! You can do it.
Heather,
Good luck this weekend!

HBD,
When you wake up on the day of the race, just pretend like you’re going to have a Bacon Maple Bar for breakfast. And if you need motivation to get to the finish line just think about the cupcakes we’re gonna go get next week.
