Silver Falls Half Marathon, or a Return to Awesomeness
This morning I raced a cold, misty trail half-marathon. (more on that later!) After the race I found myself standing next to someone whom I hadn’t seen or raced with in a very, very long time. This person is just … Continue reading

Epic Race Weekend Report
I just completed an epic weekend of back-to-back racing. If racing twice in two days sounds like a foolish use of one’s weekend I would ask you to reconsider. I mean, just imagine how good it feels right now to … Continue reading

CIM 2010: The Race Report
This past weekend I raced in the California International Marathon. It was my 9th, and most difficult marathon. There was no PR. There was no race against the clock or rally to keep pace. But there was glory and grit, … Continue reading

2010 Run Like Hell 1/2 Marathon Race Report
Here are the lessons I learned today: #1 It’s good to brush your teeth everyday – and especially before running a 1/2 marathon. Nothing is more icky than running with a pasty mouth. #2 It’s good to drink a glass … Continue reading

2010 Timberline Trail Marathon Race Report:
This morning I ran a gnarly gnarly trail marathon. This evening I ate my weight in the best of Portland pizza, demolished an old fashioned glazed donut and several (six) Newman’s Ginger-O’s. Now I am sitting here with a happy … Continue reading

SOB 50k Race Report
Siskiyou Out and Back 50k, you were a monster. A wicked, beautiful monster. A hungry monster who ate ultra runners for breakfast and then spat them out all over the mountainside. Here, better late than never, is my account of … Continue reading

Race Report: White Salmon Trail 1/2 Marathon
So here is how it went down. Friday evening I was wrapping up my first week at the office and was totally pooped. I wanted nothing more than to crawl home and sleep my way through the weekend. However, it’s … Continue reading

My First Win: The Shotgun 25k Trail Blast
No amount of typing will do this race report justice. It needs photos. There is just no other way I can describe the mud, hills and insanity. Worse yet, it was a small event and I haven’t been able to … Continue reading

2009 Portland Shamrock Run 15k
I thought it in my best interest to run the Portland Shamrock Run, not only because it’s one of Portland’s biggest races, but because everyone who finishes gets a free t-shirt and beer. And really, who can say no to … Continue reading
