the bus ride from hell

So yesterday I took a bus from Ourrassogui in eastern Senegal back to Dakar. It took only 15 hours.

And I sat with next to a very large woman carrying the following:

1 liter of Coke

1 unlawfully large purse

1 cell phone that required checking every 2.4 minutes

1 head wrap, 1 shawl, 1 sweater

and a rooster

I feel like after 8 months in Senegal i have learned a lot about patience and dealt with a range of senegalese modes of transportation but truly, the bus ride yesterday was the straw that broke the tubab’s back!!
